What to Expect at Western Veterinary Clinic
What animals do you treat?
We treat:
- Dogs & Cats
- Horses & Cattle
- Birds (parrots, chickens, waterfowl, etc.)

- Pocket Pets (rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, etc.)
- Other species—call us, we’ve probably seen it
How do I schedule an appointment?
Book online through our app anytime, call us at (701) 572-7878, or text the same number. We use modern scheduling software so you can request appointments, get reminders, and access your pet’s records from your phone—no more playing phone tag.
Will I see the same veterinarian every time?
Yes, if you want to. Many clients prefer to see the same doctor and build that relationship. But having our team of experienced veterinarians means if your regular doctor is booked or unavailable, you’re not stuck waiting. And when your pet’s case gets complicated, you benefit from multiple doctors looking at things together instead.
How long does it take to get test results?
Most results come back the same day. We run bloodwork and diagnostics in-house with advanced lab equipment that most clinics around here have to send out. Tests that used to take 3-5 days? We get them back in hours. You leave with answers and a plan, not more waiting.
What if you can’t figure out what’s wrong with my pet?
We’ll tell you. We have good relationships with specialty hospitals and won’t keep spinning our wheels if your pet needs expertise beyond what we can offer—like a CT scan or specialized surgery we don’t do here. We’ll refer you to someone who can help and send all your records ahead so you’re not starting over.
Are you more expensive than other veterinary clinics?
Our prices are comparable to other full-service practices. Some things cost more—yes, our emergency fee is higher because when you call at 3 AM and we actually answer, that availability has value. But our vaccines are often cheaper, and having diagnostics in-house saves you money in the long run. You’re not making multiple trips or waiting days for results. We publish everything online so you can compare.
Do you take emergencies?
Yes, for established clients. Call our main line (701) 572-7878 any time, day or night. A veterinarian will call you back, usually within minutes. We’re the only practice within 30+ miles that offers real after-hours care. If you’re not a client yet, we’ll still help if we can, but this is a big reason to establish care before you’re in a crisis.
