Small Animal Services

Wellness Examinations
Our number one priority is your pet’s health. We provide all types of wellness examinations from well puppy and kitten check-ups through senior check-ups.  Regular wellness exams can help us to detect early symptoms of disease and illness in your pet and treat them promptly.

Vaccinations
Vaccinations are an important aspect of your dog and cat’s wellness plan. Many diseases can be prevented with vaccines. We currently recommend annual vaccinations with the combination vaccines (Distemper/Parvo for dogs; Distemper for cats) and three-year rabies vaccinations for both cats and dogs. In addition to these routine vaccinations we also offer Feline Leukemia, and Lyme for animals that are high risk for exposure.

Internal Medicine
Many common diseases can be treated or possibly cured with medical management.  We provide diagnostic services as well as medical treatments tailored to your pet's specific condition. As many diseases are treated at home, we offer assistance in training you to properly administer your pet's medications.

Surgery (Soft Tissue/Orthopedic)
Our veterinarians perform a variety of surgical procedures ranging from routine spays/neuters to a variety of soft tissue surgeries. In addition, we also have orthopedic surgical services available including fracture repair and ACL surgery. We use gas anesthesia machines and anesthetic monitoring devices to observe your pet. Pre-operative blood screening and surgical pain management are now offered as part of our protocol to ensure your pet's safety and comfort. If we are unable to perform the surgery your pet requires, we have an excellent relationship with the nearest surgical specialists and university teaching hospitals.

Digital Radiography
X-rays can be used to evaluate skeletal, thoracic, and abdominal organ systems. Digital radiography is an advanced, safe, time efficient procedure, providing a more enhanced image than older film x-rays.

Ultrasound
Our hospital is equipped with two ultrasound machines. Veterinary ultrasound is a non-invasive, painless, and safe tool which allows the visualization of tissues and organs not otherwise possible through x-ray.

Laboratory Services
We use in-house laboratory testing for hematology, serum chemistry, serology, urinalysis, and parasite testing. Our skilled technicians are highly trained not only in sample collection but also analysis.  We also work with outside laboratories when more comprehensive or specialized veterinary testing is necessary.

Dentistry
Your pet’s dental health can positively or negatively affect its overall health. During routine wellness examinations we assess and look for dental issues including periodontal disease, gingivitis, and halitosis. We offer routine dental cleaning along with simple and complex tooth extractions. We have digital dental x-ray capability which gives our veterinarians more information about the overall health of each individual tooth.

Pharmacy
We have a fully stocked pharmacy containing many pharmaceuticals used to treat a variety of diseases. In addition, we also stock many other products including vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products, and heartworm preventatives as well as prescription diets.
